Inspired by an old pharmacy, the decor in this cocktail bar is a must see for interior lovers. Dark wood, rich coloured + patterned textile covered walls, and creative, delicious cocktails galore. This place is a gem in the Old Town worth stopping by for a drink inside or on the terrace to peoplewatch.
Another Old Town goodie inside the old school Victory Hotel is this hidden gem (or shall we say treasure). We nicknamed this the ‘Plaid Sailor’ because of it’s nautical meets Scottish countryside theme. The Chesterfield chairs can be pre-booked so if you are a planner call + reserve. The setting is perfect for a Hot Toddy or Irish Coffee on a dreary day!
Best British Pub
For a Brit + Londoner, stepping into the Tudor Arms’ doors is like magically appearing in an old English countryside pub. From the decor to the people + the traditional pub food + pints, it’s a gem for anyone missing the UK. Those who know English pubs will understand it’s not easy to come by a place like this around these parts…Tip: book ahead if it’s quiz night or there are football games on the telly!
Simply the Best Vino
Recommended by a top Stockholm food + wine expert, this relaxed wine bar serves up an impressive list of European wines in a welcoming, lively atmosphere. The delicious small plates they serve are also worthy to note. All in all, for wine lovers who can’t deal with pretentious settings, this is the place to drink well + hang loose.
Charming Wine Bar + Bistro
This charming, little wine bar is perfect for wine lovers + visitors looking for a cosy place among the cobbled stoned streets of Old Town. They serve lunch + dinner made with local + organic ingredients, along with offering a wonderful fine wine selection. The staff are friendly + the vibes are relaxed, making this a local fav.
Decent nightlife in central Stockholm is hard to come by, but this place generally represents when the DJ is on point. If you like pop, hip hop + top 40 then go here to get your groove on. It can get packed fast especially on the weekends so call ahead for a table if you prefer to spend a bit more to be comfortable. Another perk is if you feel like extending your dance session past 3am then you just pop downstairs to Rose Bar to continue the party (can’t guarantee the music is great but you are too drunk to care by then anyway?!)
This restaurant + bar is known to have some of the most talented bartenders in town. Locals frequent the bar to be guaranteed amazing cocktails made with hand-cut ice + the freshest ingredients. The atmosphere is casual + cool for happy hour or post-dinner drinks.
The Music Experience
This place is probably the most alive venue you will find in Stockholm. Trädgården has day + night sessions outdoors in the summer with local + visiting DJs playing electronic + house, hip-hop + rap, or whatever is on the agenda for that day + night. Inside, Huset Under Bron could have on any given night African funk playing in one room + upstairs more old school, funky vibes blasting. It’s mainly a younger crowd, but definitely worth checking out at any age if you are a music fan! FYI: This summer they have booze cruises taking guests on a seaside musical adventure.
Teatergrillen’s bar is a popular happy hour and/or pre-dinner drink spot for those working + hanging in central Stockholm. The tiny bar is cosy with cool bartenders, good cocktails + on weekend nights always buzzing with the city crowd.
